Shipments may appear to be "on Hold" for a number of reasons, for example if a shipment arrives at a depot later than expected and has missed its connection, or perhaps simply waiting for a connection that does not leave until later in the day.
Shipments can also be scanned as "On standby" following what is called a "force majeure event", such as extreme weather conditions, snow or floods, preventing any vehicle from moving safely.
